Simple by design

Check every source before you record

Avoid finishing a useful walkthrough only to discover that the wrong screen or no audio was captured.

  1. 01

    Choose what to capture

Pick screen only, screen with camera, or camera only, then choose the exact tab, window, or display.

  2. 02

    Check every source

Choose microphone and system audio before the take, then confirm the browser is sharing what you expect.

  3. 03

    Review before download

Stop the recording, preview the real result, then download it or start a new take.

Capture guide

Choose the narrowest screen source that works

A smaller capture scope reduces accidental notifications and unrelated windows. Audio availability can still differ by browser and platform.

Screen recorder FAQ

What to know before you record

Does this screen recorder work in the current release?

Yes. In a supported desktop browser, you can record a screen, camera, microphone, and available system audio, then preview and download the result as a WebM file.

Will recordings be uploaded to Editing.video?

No. Recording, preview, and export happen in your browser. Editing.video does not receive, store, or process the recording.

Can a browser record system audio and a microphone together?

That depends on the browser, operating system, and capture source. A tab or entire screen may offer audio while a specific window may not. Confirm the real tracks before a long take.

Can I record on a phone or tablet?

Mobile browsers generally do not provide the same screen-capture flow as desktop browsers. Use a current desktop browser for screen recording.

Is there a watermark or sign-up requirement?

No. You can record and download without an Editing.video account or watermark.

Why might a recording show a black screen?

A source may be protected by the operating system or content provider, or the selected browser may not support that capture path. Editing.video does not bypass protected content.

Keep working locally

Convert, resize, or turn a finished clip into a GIF without leaving the Editing.video tool suite.
